Summer is here. The rhythms of life shift. Alarm clocks are silenced, school hallways grow quiet, and people scatter to beaches, ballfields, cabins, and family reunions. And while that freedom brings joy, it often disrupts our spiritual routines. Sunday mornings become optional. Quiet time gets replaced with “catching up on rest.” And before long, we feel distant from the very presence that anchors us.
But the presence of God is not tied to a building, a pew, or a pulpit. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 18:20 that where even two or three gather in His name, He is present. That means your hotel room can become holy ground. Your campfire can turn into a sanctuary. Your family prayer in a minivan is just as sacred as a prayer spoken in a stained-glass chapel.
This summer, we invite you to shift your mindset. Don’t let distance create disconnection. Let it inspire deeper devotion. God’s presence is portable. His Spirit is not seasonal. He is where you are.
Wherever you go this summer, worship isn’t canceled—it’s simply relocated.
In what ways can you turn your summer spaces—whether busy or quiet—into moments of worship and connection with God?
Lord, thank You that You don’t wait for me in a church building...
While you’re away this summer, your giving keeps ministry moving forward. Your generosity supports worship, outreach, discipleship, and community care—even when you’re not physically present. Give online at: https://give.versaillesumc.org
Are you on Facebook or Instagram? We want to see where you're worshiping this summer!
Here’s how to participate:
1. Take a photo of your worship space — whether you’re on vacation, at home, or outdoors.
2. Post it on your own Facebook or Instagram page.
3. Use the hashtag #WorshipAnywhereWithVUMC in your post.
4. Tag Versailles United Methodist Church in the post so we can see it and share it!
Let’s fill social media with reminders that worship doesn’t have to stay inside the church walls. God is wherever His people are!
